Songs we like to sing at Beavers, stolen from Cubs. Thanks Cubs!
Everywhere We Go - Repeat After Me song
Everywhere we go
People always ask us
Who we are
Where we come from
So we tell them
We're the Beavers,
Mighty mighty Beavers,
And if they can't hear us
We shout a little louder
(Repeat 3 times, louder each time until...
And if they can't hear us
They must be deaf!
Bumble Bee - Action Song
I'm taking home a baby bumble bee (cup hands)
Won't my mummy be so proud of me?
I'm bringing home ababy bumble bee
Ooh! It stung me!
I'm squashing up my baby bumble bee (squash hands)
Won't my mummy be so proud of me?
I'm squashing up my baby bumble bee
Ooh! What a mess!
I'm licking up my baby bumble bee (lick hands)
Won't my mummy be so proud of me?
I'm licking up my baby bumble bee
Ooh! I feel sick!
I'm puking up my baby bumble bee (be sick on 'puke')
Won't my mummy be so mad at me?
I'm puking up my baby bumble bee
Ooh! What a mess!
I'm mopping up my baby bumble bee (sweep up)
Won't my mummy be so mad at me
I'm mopping up my baby bumble bee
That's better! Oh look, a wasp!
The Pirate Song Action Song
When I was one, I bit my tongue,
The day I went to sea.
I jumped aboard a pirate ship and the captain said to me,
“We’re going this way, that way, forward and back
Over the Irish Sea.
A bottle of Rum to soothe my tum,
And that’s the life for me!"
When I was two, I went to the loo . . .
When I was three, I shout yippee. . .
When I was four, I knocked on the door . . .
When I was five, I did a jive . . .
When I was six, I picked up sticks . . .
When I was seven, I went to heaven . . .
When I was eight, I hit the gate . . .
When I was nine, I went to dine . . .
When I was ten, I did it again

Merry, merry king of the bush is he

Campfire's Burning
Campfire's burning, campfire's burning,
Draw nearer, draw nearer,
In the gloaming, in the gloaming,
Come sing and be merry.
Animal Fair
We went to the animal fair
the birds and the beasts were there
By the light of the moon the big baboon
was combing his auburn hair
The monkey, fell out of his bunk
slid down the elephant's trunk
The elephant sneezed and fell on his knees
And what became of the monk-ey, monk-ey, monk-ey

Hey Joe!
And I work in a button factory
And one day my boss came up to me.
He says: ‘Joe’, I said: ‘Yo!’
He says: ‘You busy?’, I said ‘No.’
‘Can you push this button with your right hand?’
Hey, my name is Joe,
And I work in a button factory
And one day my boss came up to me.
He says: ‘Joe’, I said: ‘Yo!’
He says: ‘You busy?’, I said ‘No.’
‘Can you push this button with your left hand?’
Hey, my name is Joe,
And I work in a button factory
And one day my boss came up to me.
He says: ‘Joe’, I said: ‘Yo!’
He says: ‘You busy?’, I said ‘No.’

And I work in a button factory
And one day my boss came up to me.
He says: ‘Joe’, I said: ‘Yo!’
He says: ‘You busy?’, I said ‘Yes!’

Contact the Beaver section (and apply to join) Welcome to Beaver ScoutsBeaver Scouts are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm until 7:30pm. During this time we run an active, fun-filled programme starting with the ceremony of gathering logs, this is when we all join together to say hello. The age range of Beavers is between 6 and 8, on reaching the age of 8 they will then go up into Cub Scouts. Helen Hampson is the appointed leader, she is assisted by assistant leaders. In local scouting there are no paid leaders, everything is done on a voluntary basis. We need at least 4 adults to run a beaver colony the size of ours and in the absence of additional permanent help we ask that all parents/guardians help out on a rota. This means that any person who helps on a regular basis needs to complete a scout application form, which includes the CRB. Occasionally we may ask you to do extra evenings if we are carrying out an activity that needs extra supervision or if we are going out on a trip. Subs are £40 a term, we have three terms per year. There is also an initial fee of £10 which covers the necker, badges and book that each beaver scout will receive. We also ask you to fill in a gift aid form so that the group can claim back the tax you have paid on the £84, if for some reason you stop paying tax you need to let us know. Once a gift aid form is filled in it covers you for the whole of your child's stay at the group. Investiture. This is when children formally join Beavers, this is once they have an understanding about beavers and what happens. They will then be presented with their group badges and the necker. To be invested they will need to have a Beaver uniform, which is a turquoise sweatshirt and navy blue activity trousers, these can be bought from MCS Stores on Fog Lane. |

Badges at HomeBeavers love badges! We do lots of badges at Beavers, which will help your Beaver learn skills and feel they are growing and developing. You can also do badge work at home - and will need to if you want your Beaver to get the coveted Bronze Chief Scout's Award! Log in to Online Scout Manager, and select Badges, and the badge you want to say your Beaver has done. Click the "Complete at Home" badge and upload a photo or record of what your Beaver has done, and we will look at it!
We run two WhatsApp groups to help you keep in touch with what's going on. Message Al King (Wednesday leader Malak) to get on the group for your night. Autumn 2023
