Day 1

Barnswood scout camp

Over night camp at Barns Wood scout camp. Midges were on form. Rained over night and during the morning. Taken by car to Rushton Spencer. From there we hiked to Cumberland Cottage , Occasional heavy showers until Lunch time. Found that there was no one in Cumberland cottage so Keith went and got the key and we stayed in the cottage, it's only just better than camping and that is because it was raining in the morning!

Day 2

Cumberland Cottage (GME's cottage)

Left Cumberland cottage about 1000 after digging a hole for the contents of the toilet, yes it's that basic! We hiked from the cottage to the Cat & Fiddle, paused there for a drink, Then on up to Shinning Tor then down to the car at Lamaloan Reservoir. Then a drive to Linnet Clough.

We soon had camp set up, and a wood fire lit. We did all our cooking on wood from now on and the weather improved dramatically.

There were a lot camping at the Clough.

Day 3 Linnet Clough scout camp

After the site flag break in the morning all except Alan and Keith went canoeing. During this period Shaun was invested from his canoe with all the troop around in their canoes. This is first we have invested from rock faces but not on water before. Unfortunately there are no photos of this event.
